Daniela Pastarmadzhieva

Dr. Daniela Pastarmadzhieva is an Associate Professor at the Department of “Political Sciences and National Security” at the University of Plovdiv “Paisii Hilendarski”, Bulgaria. Dr. Pastarmadzhieva’s academic career includes the following achievements:

  • Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) in “Political Science”, 2013, University of National and World Economy, Sofia, Bulgaria;
  • Master Degree in “Law”, 2008, University of National and World Economy, Sofia, Bulgaria.

Dr. Pastarmadzhieva’s main research interests are to investigate the civic participation, civic competence, electoral systems and the digitalization of socio-political environment. She also participates in interdisciplinary projects with scholars from Economics, Management, Computer Sciences, and Statistics.
She is a lecturer in Elections and Electoral Systems, Comparative Politics, Political Culture and Political Sciences (Fundamentals) in Bachelor’s Degree Programs.
She is professionally involved in the development of research projects financed by the National Science Fund of Bulgaria and in University projects (Coordinator of a research project, 2019-2021), financed by the University Science Fund at the University of Plovdiv Paisii Hilendarski.

Alexander Naydenov

assoc. prof.

Alexander Naydenov, PhD is an associate professor at “Statistics and econometrics” department at the University of National and World Economy, Sofia, Bulgaria. Also, he is a member of the university management, acting as the Secretary general for academic activity analysis and control.

Mr. Naydenov is a consultant and expert in the fields of statistics and data mining, statistical software application (IBM SPSS Statistics, IBM SPSS Amos, R, μ-ARGUS, τ-ARGUS, etc.); methodology development (incl. sampling design), organization and conducting of statistical, social and marketing surveys (incl. data processing, adjustment and analysis), on-line survey questionnaire design and programming (e.g. LimeSurvey, Google Forms, etc.).

Assoc. prof. Naydenov is a lecturer in private and public organizations teaching (in Bulgarian and English): Introduction to Statistics, Econometrics, Advanced Statistics (in Bulgarian), Statistical methods for quality control, Introduction to survey sampling, Statistical methods for data mining, Data mining using R, Introduction to SPSS, SPSS – an advanced course on data analysis, Using SPSS for sampling design and estimation, Application of MS Excel for statistical analysis, On-line statistical surveys.

Antoni Gerasimov

phd student

Antoni Gerasimov is a PhD student in Political Sciences at the “Department of Political Sciences and National Security” at the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences at the University of Plovdiv Paisii Hilendarski. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Sciences and a Master’s degree in Global Politics, International Security and Crisis Management at the UP. Since 2019 he is a PhD student in Political Sciences at the “Department of Political Sciences and National Security”, FESS, UP.

His research focus is on diplomacy, international relations, geopolitics and Balkan studies. He examines in depth the structure of international relations in the Black Sea region.
He is a member of the Youth Association of Political Sciences.
